I am a house mother for a home for abused and neglected children. This ministry cares for 14 different boys and girls who have been removed from their homes. These children have often been victims of abuse and neglect. Though it is a tough situation, my job is to make a difference.
Yesterday we allowed the children to open their presents and the energy in the room was slightly evil. Children were about to cry, children were jealous of what other children received, the children were not very appreciative at all. Out of 13 children there were only 2 thank you's! My heart was disgusted. I wanted to drown my disappointment in wine but instead we decided to wake up the next morning and take the children on a little adventure. We took all those extra presents they wouldn't really appreciate and piled them all in a van and made them give their own presents to children who didn't have any. We even took them to pass out things at the homeless shelter. Today was a beautiful day. Hopefully we made someone's day!
